Breast Cancer Support

This month of October is Breast Cancer awareness month throughout the NFL. The Patriots wear pink gloves, cleats, chin straps, and footballs with pink ribbons.. Earlier this summer, Patriots owner Robert Kraft lost his wife to Breast Cancer. They wil also be collecting donations at the stadium. Also included, cheerleaders will be wearing pink breast cancer track jackets. Pink goal post padding in the endzones, pink coins, pink shoelaces, skull caps, sideline towels, QB towels, pins for the coaches, team executives and other sideline personnel will be used throughout this month.

On October 16th the Pats will be honoring breast cancer survivors by lining them up on the field.

Upcoming

Coming off a close victory against the Dallas Cowboys, The Pats have a bye week in week seven. Aaron Hernandez, Danny Woodhead, Green-Ellis, and Jerod Mayo will have an extra week to heal their various bumps and bruises that they have accumulated over the season. After the bye the Pats play AFC rival Pittsburgh Steelers who have gotten off to a slightly disappointing start. Both teams are playoff caliber teams so it should be an excellent game to watch. Big Week 5 Victory

This week the Pats gutted out tough, gritty win 20 to 16 over the Dallas Cowboys in a defensive struggle. With Brady having an off day throwing two interceptions, the defense finally stepped up with top defensive players being Gary Guyton with ten tackles, and Kyle Arrington with his league leading fourth interception. The game came down to a last effort drive by the Pats that concluded with a touchdown pass by Brady to Tight End Aaron Hernandez. The Pats will have an off week next week but will resume play in two weeks against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Stay tuned for upcoming exciting Patriots news!

Upcoming game

The next game is against division rival the New York Jets. The game is home in Foxborough. Patriots are 3-1 and the Jets have a 2-2 record, not living up to their standards that they came into the season with. This will be the first game of two between the teams this year.

Solid Win over Oakland

Last Sunday the Patriots beat the Oakland Raiders 31 to 19, in a decisive victory where Aaron Hernandez was injured, and Welker picked up the slack by catching nine passes, for 158 yards and a touchdown. He caught more than half of Brady's 16 completions. Vince Wilfork came up with his second interception of the year in only the fourth week of the season, and running it back 19 yards before a number of Raiders managed to take him down. In the next week the Pats will be playing division rival New York Jets, who has not been playing up to expectations this year, with a record of only 2-2, and a disappointing a loss to Baltimore this week.

Tough Loss

Last Sunday the Patriots had a disappointing loss to the Buffalo Bills. Up 3 touchdowns in only the first quarter, they blew the game. Tom Brady threw 4 interceptions for the first time since 2006. 2 of the 4 were not his fault, because they were deflected high into the air. Wes Welker had a career game catching 16 passes for 217 yards, which are both records for him. He also had 2 touchdown receptions. Rob Gronkowski had a career high 109 yards on 7 catches and 2 touchdowns. Brady still threw over 300 yards and 4 touchdowns. On the other side of the ball Buffalo's Fred Jackson had 74 yards rushing and 87 yards recieving with 1 touchdown. Tight end Scott Chandler had 1 touchdown catch.

Upcoming Schedule

Next week, on Sunday, The Patriots will be playing another division rival, The Buffalo Bills. Both teams are 2-0 to start off the season. The Bills have had a surprising start with Ryan Fitzpatrick leading their offense to victory, with the help from veteran running back Fred Jackson and wide receiver Steve Johnson. Jackson has two 100 yard rushing games to start off this year. For the Pats, the young tight end Aaron Hernandez, one of Brady's favorite targets, will be out for the game with an MCL injury. The tight end combination of Hernandez and Rob Gronkowski have a combined 5 touchdowns in the first 2 games of this season. Even with the loss of Hernandez New England is still the favorite.

Patriots start off hot

In week 1 of the 2011-2012 regular season, the New England Patriots defeated the Miami Dolphins 38-24. With a record setting performance by Tom Brady. He threw for 517 yards and a 99 yards pass to Wes Welker. Brady led the Pats to a decisive win over the division rival Dolphins.
The past weekend New England beat the San Diego Chargers 35-21. Brady backed up his incredible week 1 performance with another outstanding game. He was helped out with a rare interception by 325 pound Vince Wilfork. In both games he was help by his two young tight ends. This boosted their record to 2-0 to start of the season.
